Expressionist figurative artist. Studies at the Academy of Art in East and West Berlin, Germany.
Receives many prizes and is professor of painting in the universities of Karlsruhe and Berlin. His first works, with a strong influence of Art Brut, are characterized by the profusion of sexual explicit images.
Gets the Praemium Imperiale in 2004 in recognition of his career.
